A trusted partner for temporary buildings: Hudson Kapel’s ongoing collaboration with Aganto

Hudson Kapel is a leading name in the car auction industry, specialising in re-marketing nearly new, damaged, and salvaged vehicles. As their operations grew, additional space was required to assess, repair, and prepare vehicles for auction. That’s where Aganto stepped in, supplying three custom-built temporary structures to help streamline their processes.
Add-ons used
Requirement
Hudson Kapel first reached out to Aganto in 2023. Our area sales manager Andy Gilman visited their Norton, Worcester site to meet Jonathan and Julian, discussing their need for a 15m x 20m building which they would use to assess damage to vehicles. As their business evolved, they required two more buildings for different purposes: valeting, photography, and repair work. Having built a positive relationship with Andy they reached out once agan for a trusted temporary solution.

Solution
Aganto was able to supply a bespoke solution tailoring each structure to Hudson Kapel’s requirements based on what they would be used for.
The first structure, installed in 2023 at Hudson Kapel’s Worcester site, was a 15m x 20m insulated building with a 4.2m leg. Designed for damage assessment, this facility featured a rapid action door to allow easy movement of vehicles in and out. This helped streamline the evaluation process, enabling cars to be assessed repaired and listed much quicker.
The second building, installed in June 2024 at the same site, was a larger 20m x 30m part insulated structure with a 4.2m leg. This structure was designed specifically for valeting and photography, ensuring that vehicles looked their best before being listed for sale. Half of the building was open-sided, allowing easy access for valeting, while the other half featured a blackout roof to create the ideal lighting conditions for photography. To further enhance presentation, a built-in turntable was added, making it easier to showcase vehicles from every angle.
The third and most complex structure was installed in 2024 inside an existing aircraft hangar at nearby Throckmorton Airbase. Measuring 25m x 50m with a 5.2m leg, this building had to be carefully positioned with only 4mm of clearance at the apex, leaving no room for error. To transform it into a fully functional vehicle repair workshop, Aganto provided a complete electrical fit-out, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and extractor fans with full insulation. This installation ensured that Hudson Kapel had a dedicated space equipped with all necessary safety and operational features to carry out repair work efficiently.

A unique project:
The Aganto team are used to having to adapt to complete complex builds. One of the biggest challenges of this project was the installation of the workshop building inside an existing aircraft hangar. With only 4mm of clearance between the new structure and the hangar’s apex, there was absolutely no room for error. To ensure precision, Paul Prest Aganto’s senior site manager conducted multiple technical site visits, meticulously measuring and planning every detail before installation. This careful preparation allowed the team to execute the build flawlessly, despite the space constraints.
Another unique challenge was the installation of a blackout roof for the valeting and photography building. This feature was a new addition for the Aganto team, as most temporary structures do not require this level of light control. However, the team quickly adapted to the requirement, ensuring that the blackout roof was fitted correctly to create the perfect environment for vehicle photography.
The workshop building also required a complex electrical fit-out, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, carbon monoxide alarms, and extractor fans to allow staff to complete repairs in a safe, controlled environment. Aganto’s expertise in integrating these critical systems ensured that the new building was fit for purpose, transforming the space into a fully functional repair facility.

Another successful build:
Aganto delivered all three buildings on time and to spec, helping Hudson Kapel expand their operations. With new dedicated spaces for damage assessment, valeting, photography, and repairs, they can now process vehicles more effectively, improving both turnaround times and auction presentation.
This project highlights Aganto’s ability to provide customised, high-quality temporary building solutions, no matter how complex the challenge.
